Watch Charlize Theron Gently Cringe at Her Bad Spy-Movie Fashion

Atomic Blonde may be serving up endless bloodlust and some of the best fight sequences to hit theaters this summer, but it’s also got a little something extra: perfect espionage style. In the 1989-set spy film, stars Charlize Theron, Sofia Boutella, and James McAvoy all make distinct fashion choices, from statement coats to so-uncool-they’re-cool-again sweater vests. So, who better than Theron and Boutella to look back at the most famous spy films in Hollywood history and rank their fashion choices?

The twosome sat down with Vanity Fair to share their thoughts on iconic looks like Angelina Jolie’s B.D.S.M. trenchcoat in Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Judi Dench’sclassic navy ensemble in Skyfall, and Ursula Andress’s famous bikini in Dr. No.

“It’s bananas,” Boutella says of the famous Bond girl.

“I’ve always wished I could look like that in a bathing suit,” Theron adds.

However, the duo have some differing opinions on Elizabeth Hurley’s metallic ensemble in Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery.

“I wonder how many times she was worried about her vagina showing—because that is short,” Theron muses.

“I think it’s not short enough,” Boutella retorts.

Watch above to see the two battle it out over numerous other looks—including Theron’s own outfit in the 2005 sci-fi thriller Æon Flux.
